( a tentative bite of one and then another, and kimberly nods, clearly more than satisfied with the spread he's laid out in front of her. it's good, genuinely so; if she didn't know any better, she'd have assumed he'd ordered in — whether from the apartment's resident chef or from the diner. the fact that he'd actually taken the time not only to make it but to learn how just shows how much care he'd shown in putting this surprise together.
